Enwongo EdemWildfires are heartbreaking and cause pain to victims. The recent one that has bedevilled the people of Madre is quite sad and disheartening. It has left the community devastated, lives forever changed, and hearts heavy with loss.
With security agencies and safety officers running around to salvage life and properties, we can only pray and commit the lives of the survivors, first responders and other citizens of the community to God in prayer for lives to be saved and for properties to be saved.
Prayer is the only way to remember the victims, offer hope, and bring down God’s comfort. Here are twelve heartfelt prayers you can pray for the victims of the Madre Fire.
1. Prayer for God’s Comfort Amid Loss
Heavenly Father,
We lift up every heart grieving because of the Madre Fire. Lord, wrap Your loving arms around those who have lost homes, memories, livelihoods, and even loved ones. Be near to the brokenhearted, and save those crushed in spirit. May Your presence be their refuge and strength. Pour Your peace that surpasses all understanding into their weary souls.
Your Word declares in Psalm 34:18, “The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Also, remind them of Isaiah 41:10, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.”

As victims look to rebuild, may gratitude strengthen them for the journey. Let them see Your hand in every small mercy—shared meals, temporary shelters, supportive friends. Turn their mourning into dancing and their sorrow into songs of praise.
